Rework Operator (2nd Shift)
Overview We are seeking a full-time Rework Operator (2nd Shift) in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for reworking returned or defective products by applying Engineering Change Orders and ensuring that units conform to their Bill of Materials. Essential Functions Receive product into the Customer Repair system by sorting and opening customer product and entering into Oracle and MS Access Operate standard test equipment and conduct functional, operational and environmental tests on products Exchange consumer and marine products by transferring customer data and corresponding with the customer through a typed Service Report Weigh, package, box, ship and process units into Kewill database Rework and repair Taiwan products by testing board level replacements and minor component repairs, performing Engineering Change Orders, packaging units per the Bill of Material and recording testing results Compliance with HRD-003 (Garmin’s Attendance Policy) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements Remanufacture products through inspection to determine stocking level, upload latest software(s) to unit and test units to ensure functionality Demonstrate a high degree of dexterity and eye coordination to allow manipulation of buttons, switches, hand tools and knobs on delicate equipment, products and parts Ability to lift up to 25 pounds while using safe lifting techniques Ability to sit, stand, look down, bend, twist, and have dexterity with hands for up to 10 hours Possess specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent AND 1 year data entry experience or equivalent Demonstrated high degree of dexterity and eye coordination to allow manipulation of buttons, switches, hand tools and knobs on delicate equipment, products and parts Ability to lift up to 30 pounds while using safe lifting techniques Ability to sit, stand, look down, bend, twist, and have dexterity with hands for up to 10 hours Possess specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to operate machinery and have a mechanical aptitude with an attention to detail Demonstrated basic computer operational skills Desired Qualifications Electronics training or work experience 2+ years soldering experience 6+ months previous computer experience Ability to type 35 WPM Ability to speak and understand foreign languages Previous customer service and phone experience Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
