Job DescriptionThe Diversified Analog Solutions team located in Andover, MA is home to our design center for WLAN applications and has a challenging opportunity for an University Student available for a 6 month work term. Skyworks is looking for a Winter/Spring 2025 Co-Op (January 2025 -June 2025). The candidate should have knowledge of semiconductors, analog circuits and RF design fundamentals. They should have a basic understanding of RF designs like PA, LNA and switch, as well as analog blocks like bias, bandgap etc. Understanding design parameters like gain, noise, non-linearity, s-parameters, stability etc., as well as familiarity with design tools like ADS/Cadence is required. Exposure to a lab testing setup and environment including commonly used test equipment like network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, frequency generator, noise figure meter will be useful as well. The Co-Op student will work closely with a group of PA and LNA design mentors in development of ICs and modules that have stand-alone or integrated PA cores, LNA cores, RF switches, attenuators, bias controller, and various RF functional blocks for WLAN applications.
ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will have the following job responsibilities:
Simulating/validating performance across supply, temperature and frequency Block-level design and simulation to understand the circuits that are being measured and correlating measurements with simulation Creating compliance matrices against spec, plotting results and presenting results summary Tuning RF front end modules in the lab, including impedance matching. Evaluating RF parameters like Small Signal, Harmonics, DEVM, IP3, NF, Settling Time, etc. Qualification and Education Requirements Must be currently enrolled in an MS program studying Electrical Engineering. Must be available to work onsite for the Winter 2025 Semester. Must have completed at least one RF/Microwave Electronics course Experience presenting materials for design/data review. Good communication, organization, and documentation skill. Knowledgeable in the use of a Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, RF Generator, Power Meter, Oscilloscope. Desirable knowledge/experience includes familiarity with Agilent ADS and/or Cadence Spectre/RF simulation tools, Cadence Virtuoso IC Layout, Momentum/Sonnet/HFSS EM simulation tools, SPICEThe typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
