Job Title: Electrical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support our aviation communication development needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehending customer Statements of Need, developing technical requirements, and creating end-to-end system designs to meet the needs of both internal and external customers in our communication services. Responsibilities + Analyze statements of need and business requirements + Lead highly technical engineering teams on challenging RF-focused projects + Develop RF test procedures + Evaluate communications equipment + Provide analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system-level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements + Develop solutions with cross-discipline engineering teams + Document technical analysis + Perform analysis of data flows and data logs + Analyze the performance of the system against established performance parameters such as latency, availability, and capacity + Represent the company in industry forums Essential Skills + RF, Radio Frequency, VHF, HF, UHF, LHF + Modulation, Propagation + STEM Degree, Electrical Engineering + Datalink, Telecommunications + Error Correction / FEC + Waveform Analysis + Simulation Software + Python, MATLAB + Troubleshooting, Interference + Hardware + Systems Engineering, Requirements Development + Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope + RF Engineering Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with high gain directional HF antennas + RF interference mitigation + Microwave systems installation and maintenance + Proven communication and collaboration skills to work with counterparts in Avionics, Mission Systems, and Commercial Systems and across engineering groups + Participation in industry committees developing interface or communication specifications + Experience with aeronautical communication, air traffic management, or airline operations + Implementing architectural changes and customer-driven enhancements to complex systems + Experience with full life-cycle development, testing, implementation, and long-term support + Developing technical product roadmaps + Management of the configuration process, functional analysis, timeline analysis, operational scenarios, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies + Integrating with external systems operated by external companies or agencies + Analyzing performance of complex systems through statistical analysis + Performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems + Eliciting and managing customer requirements + Experience working in a highly integrated team environment with software, hardware, and network engineers + Knowledge of contemporary technologies applicable to product and market needs + Experience working in communication systems + Experience working in a service-oriented business model for engineering + Experience working in high availability systems with an understanding of RMA and redundant architectures and design Work Environment This position is fully onsite with a possibility of a 9/80 schedule. There is flexibility around core hours.
