Position Summary
This position is responsible for reviewing the accuracy and reliability of data per ISO 17025 and serving as a technical liaison with clients. Responsibilities include maintaining RF test systems, reading and interpreting standards and regulations, conducting technical training, and working with clients to resolve technical problems.
Objective
Provide proactive technical assistance to clients by identifying and resolving product issues, along with providing timely and accurate test results and information to both internal and external clients that meet or exceed their expectations.
Major Roles & Responsibilities
Understand and interpret standards for appropriate test methods and create test plans based on those standards.
Prepare a variety of samples for testing using prescribed testing methods, following testing standards / specifications, providing direction to techs as required. Prepares and reviews written technical reports.
Evaluate test results data, providing direction to engineers and clients. Provide direction to clients relating to other BV internal lab information, as applicable.
Conducts testing on a variety of consumer products samples using prescribed testing methods, following industry standards / specifications appropriate to the sample and certification requirements, providing direction to techs.
Provides technical consultation to internal and external clients. Offer problem resolution, as applicable, for any client issues or questions with the aim of enhancing client satisfaction and improving client relations.
Write, train, implement and update lab procedures, test protocols, and technical procedures. Calibrate, operate, and maintain testing equipment, maintain supplies, lab cleanliness and analytical instrumentation, as required.
Develop materials and presentations for client visits and standard development organizations, i.e. 3GPP RAN5, PVG, GCF, Zigbee Alliance.
Research and development of new testing services / methods / procedures / set-ups.
Serves as the technical lead on various projects, coordinating with internal and external clients, lab technicians, analysts, engineers, and sub-contract labs both internal and external.
Supports project quotes in response to client request. The quote will define the scope of work and deliverables.
Proactive / continuous improvement with department procedures and the communication of those procedures to other departments.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Understanding of 3GPP (TS 36.521-1, 36.521-3, 38.521-1, 38.521-3, 38.521-4, 38.533), IEEE 802.15.4
Understanding of 5G, LTE, WCDMA, GSM, Zigbee, Carrier Aggregation, MIMO, Bluetooth
Experience with conformance measurement equipment, i.e Rohde & Schwarz, Spirent, Anritsu or Keysight
Experience conformance Protocol test systems from Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu, Keysight, Spirent
Able to use test and measure equipment such as network and spectrum analyzers and power meter
Able to use analysis/logging tools: QXDM, PST, Perl, Wireshark, Shannon DM, etc.
Strong written and verbal communications skills including the ability to communicate effectively in a group setting, with colleagues and clients

Experience and Educational Background Required:
Engineer III:
4 year degree in a technical/engineering discipline and 3-5 years related experience; or
2 year degree in a technical/engineering discipline and 5-7 years related experience
Compensation Range: $120,000 - $140,000 annually (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as locations, education, experience, and skillset)
