RF Optimization Engineer

Role Summary

The RF Optimization Engineer is responsible for performing RF Planning, Optimization and Performance Management tasks.
RF Optimization Engineer will work on multiple projects with different clients in the wireless industry supporting different technologies – 5G/IoT, VoLTE/LTE, UMTS, GSM, working on different assignments and projects supporting but not limited to; RF Design (RFDS), RF Optimization and Performance, Small Cells and Regulatory Site Compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Performing RF Planning, Optimization and Performance Management.Performing RF Database / Parameter Review and Audit, including optimization plans.Conducting performance and tuning and optimization of LTE/UMTS/GSM overlay wireless networks to reduce interference, call drops and access/handoff failures.Submitting SLA KPI’s to the customer and justify the performance of the network.Performing RNC level statistical analysis and performance management.Correlating alarms/outages with the KPI’s for the RNC and BSC.Conducting initial tuning for LTE (4G), UMTS (3G) and GSM (2G) Networks.Maintaining Networks KPI’s on targets Drop PS <2%, Drop Speech<1%, Accessibility PS >98%, accessibility Speech >98%.Initial Tuning of new sites/ NodeB’s.Using RF proprietary software for analysis and create customer reports.Changing, creating and deleting Utran Relations and external Utran RelationsOptimization of parameters for new feature introduction.Performing call drop analysis, SHO, HHO, IRAT, HO, RRC, RAB, SHO Factor Congestion KPI analysis and take appropriate actions.Monitoring and benchmarking RNC/NodeB upgrade/patch implementation.Responsible for RRC, RAB, IRAT, HO failures, call drop, SHO failures analysis.Responsible primarily for the research, development, hands-on integration and evaluation of early stage Wireless Radio Access Network (RAN) related infrastructure and products.Collaborating with the Engineering and Product Development organizations, vendors, and standards and policy organizations.Will drive proof of concept solution creation with main focus on the wireless access systems and next generation e2e applications.Assess new product requirements, develop technology and architecture solutions and evaluate performance.

Job Requirements

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent education in a related programThorough hands-on knowledge of LTE small cells, CBRS FW, mMIMO and familiar with 5G architecture, with a clear track record of excellence managing wireless access engineering systems.Hands-on experience with new product introductions in lab and for the clients, with major Global service providers.Ability to lead complex projects.Strong technology expertise, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a strong customer-service orientation.Operational experience of RF Design, Optimization and Performance.Proven hands-on expertise in setup and configuration of LTE networks (RAN and Core) with a major equipment vendor.Proven hands-on expertise troubleshooting problems.Hands on experience in performance optimization of LTE networks and relevant KPIs.IP knowledge preferred – VLANs, subnets, etc.Ability to communicate with all levels of management.Ability to manage and deliver against several initiatives simultaneously.Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.
