RF Test Technician

The Mercury Systems RF MMICs team is a growing, high-tech organization focused on designing leading edge RF MMIC devices for worldwide markets.  The RF MMICs team (formerly Atlanta Micro) has an extensive catalog of high-performance semiconductor products.  We are looking for talented, motivated individuals to join a dynamic work culture in our testing department. 

 

In this role, you have the opportunity to:

 

Conduct RF test, measurements and troubleshooting on semiconductor components such as amplifiers, switches, filters, mixers, multi-chip modules, and integrated microwave assemblies that operate from DC to 40 GHz.

 

You are responsible to:

Conduct manual and automated production tests on RF semiconductor components. Record and organize test results.  Communicate status of various production efforts. Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain electronics measurement equipment. Develop understanding of operation and parametric behavior of RF components. Perform occasional surface mount assembly/rework with hand soldering equipment. Work with engineering design team to prototype and characterize new product. Prepare test reports and data in accordance with Acceptance Test Procedures Runs moderate to complex testing. Perform Thermal, Shock, Vibration and Environmental Tests Runs tests constructed by others. Have a basic understanding of ATP troubleshooting simple to moderate issues. Use a variety of test equipment, including bus analyzers, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers to ensure the highest quality of integrated and tested products.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of work experience with RF electronics device testing at the component level. Familiarity with electronic circuits fundamentals and RF measurement methods. Experience using lab test equipment including vector network analyzers, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, digital multi-meters, and basic electronic tools. Reading and writing English, and strong arithmetic skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in electronics. Has done simple to moderate RF tuning and has basic understanding of Engineering standards. Able to read basic block diagram while maintaining prototype and pre-production test fixtures. Ability to work with general instruction on daily activities. Knowledge of tuning logic and methods. Understanding of basic electrical theory and OHMs law.
