As a Specialist with the RIA Custody & Sales team, you play an essential and impactful role in the success of the team. This is a role where you can bring your passion for sales and client engagement to a firm that will value your contributions and champion your growth. You will be part of a prospecting team speaking with advisors turning independent from wirehouses, independent broker-dealers, trust/bank channels, and fee-based independent investment advisors who would like to engage with Schwab to learn more about becoming a new custody and trading services client. You have the unique opportunity to center your work around development and growth – for clients and yourself. As part of the Business Development organization within Schwab Advisor Services, you will support a driven team of professionals, focused on delivering great experiences to our clients and prospects.
Key Deliverables for a Successful Candidate:
Lead identification and outreach.Leverage firm provided tools to conduct targeted outreach campaigns via phone, email, and other channels to generate interest and schedule appointments with potential prospects considering a transition to the independent RIA modelResearch and identify potential prospects who are considering or actively transitioning to the independent RIA modelSales Qualification and Appointment SettingSet phone appointments for Business Development Officers to engage with a prospect in initial discoveryCatalog and accurately assess a prospect’s needs, goals, and suitability for our custody solutions ensuring high quality leads are passed on to Business Development OfficersMarket Intelligence GatheringCollect and document market insights, trends, and competitive intelligence during interactions with prospectsProvide detailed reports on prospect feedback, challenges, and opportunities to refine sales strategiesBrand RepresentationRepresent the company well, consistently delivering a professional, engaging, and knowledgeable impression to prospectsEnsure all interactions reflect the company’s commitment to excellence and enhance our reputation in the marketReports to the Westlake headquarters and is notavailable as fully remote. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experienceA valid and active Series 7 and Series 66 (63/65) license (may be obtained within a 90-day condition of employment)Experience in lead generation, sales, or business development with a preference of financial services experiencePassion for the client with the ability to strengthen and retain client relationshipsStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and engage prospects effectivelyDemonstrated ability to meet and exceed performance metrics in a fast-paced environmentHighly organized with a keen focus on accuracy, proficient in CRM tools and lead tracking systemsPreferred Qualifications:
Highly motivated self-starter who possesses integrity, a strong work ethic, and a client centric focusProficient in multitasking across multiple applications, including online research tools, databases, and email systemsAdaptability in changing environmental, economic, and client need scenariosStrong organizational skills with attention to detailSkilled at building and sustaining collaborative relationships across the enterpriseExperience navigating regulatory environments within financial services, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while upholding the highest ethical standards and avoiding the appearance of improprietyIn addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
