Program Highlights & Responsibilities
Meet and network with other college interns and park leaders
Gain first-hand knowledge and experience working directly in the field in an operations leadership position
Oversee member of the Ride Operations Team in a Supervisory role
Get valuable opportunities to meet, engage, and learn from park leaders and management
Opportunity to shadow and interact with park Directors and Park President
Participate in a “Capstone Presentation” related to improving an aspect of the park/resort operation
Opportunity to learn from leaders at our hotel & indoor waterpark operation
Provide guests with a safe and enjoyable ride experience
Entertain guests and calm their nerves as they board our world-class thrill machines
Push buttons and pull switches to launch attractions through the course
Make sure seatbelts are tight, loose items are secure, and lap bars are locked to keep guests safe
Enforce rider restrictions and measure for height requirements
Assist guests in and out of ride vehicles and cycle through the line efficiently and cautiously
Keep ride patios and midways clean and looking great
Act as a first responder to ride emergencies and respond appropriately
Ensure quality control of your assigned crew
Train and audit ride operators and attendants to ensure the highest level of safety
Create and implement break plans for team members
Ensure adequate staffing of all attractions in a zone or sections of the park
Coordinate and perform training, including department orientation and continuous on the job training in accordance with Six flags and Great Escape Resort Standards
Perform duties as a Team Member when necessary, including but not limited to operating rides
Practices, supports, maintains and enforces a total safety culture for all Leads and Team Members
Assist other Team Members and Departments to support the resort as a whole
How You Will Do It
Ability to lead and inspire team members.
Ability to work in an environment as fast-paced as our coasters
Ability to multitask
After passing ride certification tests with 100% accuracy
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Friendly, outgoing personality inviting guests to your boarding station
Positive attitude to make guests excited about their ride
Must react well in stressful and emergency situations
Taking direction from management
What You Will Need
Must be 18 years or older
Must be currently pursuing a college degree or a recent graduate (within 180 days of the start of employment at Six Flags Great Escape)
A team-player attitude and the willingness to step in wherever it is needed to support the park operation or assist Guests
Commit to working through the 2025 summer operating season (mid-May through mid-August)
Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, nights and holiday periods to meet business needs
Ability and comfort working in an indoor and outdoor environment (rain, heat, winds, etc.)
Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and reach throughout your shift
Excellent verbal communication skills
Basic understanding of leadership and a willingness to learn and develop
A safety-first attitude
Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Pay Range: $15.50 - $17.00/hr
