Rigging Inspector

We are seeking a Below-the-Hook Run Rigging Inspector to ensure the safety, reliability, and compliance of below-the-hook lifting devices and rigging equipment.
This role involves conducting inspections of lifting beams, spreader bars, lifting clamps, hooks, slings, chains, and other below-the-hook attachments used in material lifting operations.
The ideal candidate will understand OSHA, ASME, and ANSI standards, along with hands-on experience in rigging safety and inspection procedures.
Pay: $15-$30/hr
+ Job is for based on a 40 Hour work week
+ Time and a half for any work on Saturday
+ Double time pay for any work on Sunday

Key Responsibilities:
Inspection & Compliance:
+ Perform visual and functional inspections on below-the-hook lifting devices, including lifting beams, spreader bars, grabs, lifting magnets, and vacuum lifters.
+ Inspect rigging components such as chains, wire ropes, slings, shackles, eye bolts, turnbuckles, and hooks for wear, deformation, corrosion, and fatigue.
+ Verify compliance with OSHA 1910.184, ASME B30.9, B30.10, B30.16, B30.20, and B30.26 standards.
+ Rebuilding of Chain slings and various rigging to bring back to compliance of manufacture specifications.
+ Inspect and Load test of all customer wall column and floor mounted crane Jibs.
+ Identify and remove defective or unsafe rigging equipment from service, tagging it accordingly.
+ Ensure that all below-the-hook lifting devices meet manufacturer and industry specifications for safe operation.
Certification of below hook devices:
+ Issue certification documentation and compliance reports for inspected equipment.
Documentation & Reporting:
+ Maintain accurate inspection logs, and certification documents for all below-the-hook equipment.
+ Provide detailed failure analysis reports, including recommendations for repairs or replacements.
+ Track and monitor rigging inventory, ensuring timely re-certifications and replacements.
+ Assist in developing and improving inspection checklists and safety procedures.
Safety Support:
+ Assist in incident investigations related to lifting failures or near-misses.
+ Stay updated on the latest OSHA and ASME regulatory changes and implement them in inspection protocols.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience: Preferred but not required 2 years of experience in rigging inspection, crane inspection, or material handling operations.
Certifications (Preferred):
+ NCCCO Rigging Inspector Certification or ASME Rigging Inspector Certification
+ OSHA 30 Certification or equivalent safety training
Technical Knowledge:
+ Expertise in below-the-hook lifting devices, rigging configurations, and lifting load calculations.
+ Familiarity with crane operations and lifting procedures.
Attention to Detail: Strong ability to identify defects and safety hazards in rigging equipment. Communication Skills: Clear and professional report writing, record-keeping, and training abilities. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in an industrial setting, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
