Responsibilities You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including lifting and repositioning of an aircraft, aircraft parts, various equipment, office furniture, delivering supplies and materials, loading and unloading trailers and vans. You will assist other trades by providing lift support and erecting scaffolding or staging as needed. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out for this position is performing the following tasks: 1) Applying basic knowledge of established rigging practices and techniques to select and install weight-handling gear used in lifting, moving, and positioning equipment and aircraft; 2) Knowledgeable in the use of rigging equipment such as hydraulic jacks, chain falls, block and tackles, shackles and pad eyes; 3) Operating forklifts, trucks, and/or other related equipment incidental to moving furniture, equipment, material, supplies, etc. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/federal-wage-system-qualifications/#url=WG-5200 Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Education Additional Information This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. The position often requires irregular hours. This position requires rotating shift work. This position requires evening and weekend work. This position requires exposure to high noise levels. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
