Overview Join our dynamic team as a Risk Management Specialist and make a significant impact on the future of risk management at Gallagher Global Brokerage, UK. You will be instrumental in supporting the implementation of the UK Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) policy, framework, processes, and reporting, ensuring that our operations are robust and resilient. As a pivotal second-line role, you will work closely with the ERM Team, Trading Divisions, and Enterprise Solutions functions to bring the centrally managed Enterprise Risk Management Framework to life. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the way we manage risk, providing you with the opportunity to influence and drive best practices within a leading global brokerage. How you'll make an impact Risk Management Framework & Systems Collaborate with the team to integrate and refine the risk management framework and tools, incorporating feedback from the business. Facilitate training and support the use of risk management systems and processes within the organisation. Risk Appetite Assist in defining, assessing, implementing, and monitoring the organisation's risk appetite. Risk and Controls Processes Support the evaluation and moderation of Gallagher's risk profile. Participate in key business meetings to provide advice and challenge on business risks and mitigation strategies. Contribute to significant risk management projects and initiatives. Review and challenge risk assessments to ensure comprehensive coverage and consistency. Conduct or support ad-hoc risk assessments as needed. Control Self-Assessment Assist in the control self-assessment process as required. Risk Events Respond to business queries on a day-to-day basis. Support the management, analysis, and review of risk events with subject matter experts and first-line functions. Challenge and support root cause analysis for risk events. Analyse risk event data to identify trends and themes Reporting Produce timely and relevant risk management information and reports. TC2.4/Orderly Wind Down Planning Support the TC2.4 and orderly wind-down planning processes as required. Communications Build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with the business. Training and Competence Develop and deliver risk management training to the business. Other Responsibilities Promote an effective risk culture. About You Risk management exposure – ideally within insurance, broking or underwriting environments; Demonstrates an understanding of risk practices and techniques. Highly accurate and pays attention to detail. Good interpersonal skills, including listening, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively. Good presentation skills. Problem-solving mind-set with the ability to develop creative approaches and solutions. Diligent approach. Highly motivated and results focussed. High degree of integrity.
