Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the identification, prevention and management of clinical and non-clinical risks and day-to-day administration of the risk management program. Responsible for working with a high degree of autonomy as well as collaboration within the assigned ministries and the broader complex organization to build effective relationships and establish credibility with staff, leaders, physicians, patients and visitors in order to advance the risk management objectives, assure compliance with regulatory mandates and standards, improve patient safety and quality of care and protect organizational assets. Acts as a subject matter expert, resource, internal consultant and educator for risk management issues.** **Required Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare related from an accredited university; Nursing preferred **-OR-** 3 years of experience in a clinical risk management/patient safety role with related professional certification, CPHRM or CPPS, **-OR-** able to obtain within 1 year of employment + Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, or other health care related program + Coursework/Training: On the job training and attendance at workshops and seminars by SJHS and external resources + Upon Hire: Texas Registered Nurse License upon hire + 5 or more years of General Nursing or healthcare-related experience.
