Role Overview: Provide claims consulting service to captive clients and prospective clients. Coordinate, monitor, and enhance services being offered to our clients/prospects from the Third-Party Administrators and Risk Control Service Providers. How you'll make an impact Provide claim advice and act as general claim resource to captive members. Actively resolve claim handling disputes between captive member and the claim administrator. Facilitate good relationships between member and claim administrator while fostering a quality customer service focus. Review, coordinate and monitor the overall performance of the Risk Control and the Claim Management service providers. Verify services offered are adequate and service team is competent for the needs of the captives. Participate in Carrier Audits with the Third Party Administrators to verify proper claim handling practices and being met. Review claim and loss control reports and determine whether or not specific intervention is necessary. Evaluate and monitor high exposure claims. Design efficient procedures for monitoring claims. Arrange and facilitate Risk Control Workshops. Develop the Risk Control Committee Agenda and work with the chairperson, claim administrator and risk control service provider to obtain information for the board books. Attend Board Meetings, facilitate the Risk Control Committee Meeting and prepare the Risk Control Committee minutes. Formulate a Risk Control Budget and work within the budget parameters agreed to by the Board of Directors. Prepare closeout analysis. Provide claim-handling procedures/guidelines to clients. Participate in claim review meetings as the consultant on an as needed basis. Run financial reports from the claim administrator’s system. Assist members in obtaining claim reports that meet their needs, on an as-needed basis. Review loss reports to identify trends to reduce overall cost of the captive and suggest pro-active safety procedures, to focus on problem areas. Develop and refine products and services including strategies for cost control. Communicate any issues to the Captive Director and advise them of the final resolution. Develop reports analyzing client loss pattern by location, type, and period, identifying trends and commendations for solutions on a regular basis for all direct written accounts on a specific established time frame. Perform tasks according to our processes. Work on special projects and perform other tasks as assigned. About You Required: Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience 3 years' experience in a claims role Preferred: Good written and oral communication skills, including the ability to compose clear, concise, and grammatically correct reports. Ability to present in front of large audiences. Working knowledge of computer programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Must be a self-starter with a positive attitude. Above-average telephone personality and the ability to deal with people in difficult situations. Ability to travel and work more than eight-hour workdays including weekends as needed.
