About The Opportunity

Location: May be based in Bethel, PA, Auburn NH, or Winchester, VA.

The Risk Management Specialist I will survey residential and commercial properties, maintain good relations with the public, assist in managing losses, and investigate accidents & property damage claims.

What you will be doing:

Perform inspections, assessments, and surveys of local homes, businesses, private and public properties in connection with company’s blasting operations. Will be responsible for damage complaints and insurance claim investigation activities. Represent the company relative to claims negotiations to minimize loss. Complete water and radon testing as needed. Attend required meetings as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

In order to be successful in this role, here is what we will need from you:

Solid understanding of insurance practices relative to claims and loss handling. Experience as a claims or insurance adjustor or a background in real estate preferred. Written and oral communications skills. Computer literacy/spreadsheet knowledge. Public speaking experience preferred. Self-starter with hands-on experience. Ability to pass background investigation and pre-hire drug screening. Working in adverse weather conditions. Working in an office environment. Ability to perform essential functions of the position Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. 15% of the time Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions or environments Stooping and bending 15% of the time Out of town, or out of state overnight travel to worksites required, as necessary.

About You

You have experience as a Claims or Insurance Adjuster, or a background in real estate, and a solid understanding of insurance practices including insurance claims and loss handling. You are comfortable working in a public-facing role where you are able to utilize your investigative and organizational skills to ensure regulatory compliance. You prefer hands-on, detail-oriented work where you can contribute to the overall success of a team.
