Risk Management Specialist - Networking and Product Support

Using insights to create solutions for the future - in the here and now. **Job Overview** **Position Schedule:** Full-Time The Risk Management Specialist is responsible for the management of the team risk and third-party vendor oversight management program, which includes performing periodic risk assessments, monitoring key risks / third party vendors, and reporting on risk and third-party vendor oversight to leadership. This will require in-depth industry knowledge, understanding of department systems, as well as industry rules and regulations. In addition, you will need to understand the upstream and downstream impact these have on the functions and on higher levels of decision-making. The role may have a variety of daily and periodic responsibilities based on the department's business needs and require a strong working knowledge of mutual funds. **What You'll Do:** + Manage product, regulatory, processing and/or financial risk through oversight of business processes, external factors, and third-party vendors. + Identifying, implementing, analyzing, and performing oversight/controls across the department leveraging technical skills and experiences, such as writing macros, data queries, etc. + Serve as a subject matter expert on multiple business area functions, including a deep understanding of how and why the work is performed to effectively mitigate risk. + Analyze, interpret, and understand complex material to independently make business decisions on non-routine issues that may have legal, regulatory or financial implications. + Use sound judgment in evaluating alternatives and making recommendations to business area leaders and others. + Act as a consultant to department leadership on process improvements and initiatives including but not limited to, risk management. Concentrations in business, accounting, finance or management are preferred. + 5+ years of experience in financial services (i.e. brokerage, mutual funds, insurance, asset management, etc.) preferred. Should include experience evaluating and implementing controls + Strong analytical skills, including evaluating information from multiple sources (client, account, financial, and market) to proactively develop measures, make decisions, and to manage ongoing controls for the team. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, including presenting information to senior management both verbally and in writing. + Make decisions on complex or high-risk issues with little to no leader involvement.
