Risk Manager, Selling Partner Risk - Special Projects & Investigations
Description Selling Partner Trust and Store Integrity (TSI) is responsible for creating a trustworthy shopping experience across Amazon stores worldwide by protecting customers, brands, selling partners, vendors and Amazon from fraud, counterfeit, and abuse as well as providing world‐class support and building loyalty with Amazon’s millions of selling partners. The Special Projects and Investigations (SPI) team within TSI protects Amazon customers and stores by launching investigative projects and detection mechanisms aligned to the seller journey to deep dive proactive key events within the bad actor lifecycle. To achieve this, we are looking for an experienced Risk Manager to join our team with a background in risk and data analytics to identity and scale new bad actor behavior trends. The ideal candidate should be passionate about using and understanding data to discover both known and emerging bad actor trends. You will help ensure customers make great purchase decisions and our selling partners using Amazon are successful listing and selling their products. Your support is not only fundamental to helping protect customers and selling partners but will help maintain the health of Amazon’s catalog and product listings ecosystem. Key job responsibilities • Use high-level judgment to identify trends, correlations and anomalies within the selling lifecycle • Create, validate and scale detection mechanisms through data • Complete risk analyses using complex data sets (SQL, Python, R etc.) • Conduct large scale deep dives to derive insights about tactics used to conduct abuse on our stores • Identifying gaps and risk in Amazon's current mechanisms, systems, and policies • Break problems into manageable pieces, ruthlessly prioritizing, and delivering results in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment • Own and/or manage projects designed to improve operational and process efficiency A day in the life This role is focused on delivering results through identifying bad actors. Each day is different as new behaviors and trends are constantly discovered. You will be making high judgement decisions and implementing direct mechanisms to stop bad actors on WW stores as early as possible. While identifying commonalities of abuse, you will need to share your observations and trends with partner teams to increase detection coverage. You and the team are on the front lines of protecting Amazon customers and stopping abuse in our stores. About the team Our team is comprised of experts in the risk domains like fraud, cybersecurity, data security, internal risk, threat intelligence, regulatory compliance, vendor risk, etc. with strong data analysis and investigation skills. We complement specialized skills with broad risk experiences gathered through years of experience to deliver results - we wear a lot of hats, move quickly, and are frugal to the core by conducting tasks ourselves whenever possible. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent - 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience - Experience with SQL and Excel - Experience handling confidential information - Experience implementing repeatable processes and automation or standardization - Experience working in fast paced e-commerce organizations - Proven ability to deliver complex projects across multiple teams Preferred Qualifications - 3+ years of program requirements definition and data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements experience - Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials - Intermediate proficiency in writing large, complex and optimized SQL queries - Experience with programming languages (Python, R, MATLAB), data sciences, machine learning, or artificial intelligence Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
