Risk Manager - ISP

The Risk Manager within the Global Business Unit (GBU), will provide Risk Assessment support to Operations, Engineering and Business Development Teams through the operational lifecycle of Project Tendering and Operations. This support will focus on risk assessment for the design, planning and support of well engineering, and continuous risk evaluations for running Integrated Service Projects (ISP)  and Business Opportunities. The level of support will include Well Construction and Intervention guidance and expertise in Well Operations, Well Engineering, Operational Risk Identification, Risk Evaluation and Risk Mitigation, Technical Integrity, Knowledge Sharing and Software deployment. The Risk Manager also works closely with the Engineering Lead and the rest of the team to prepare and execute the safest and most efficient plans to drill/complete wells and run projects.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

Risk Identification & Assessment: Systematically identify and evaluate risks associated with operations, project execution, and business functions, including technical, financial, environmental, and regulatory risks.

 

Risk Mitigation & Control: Develop and implement strategies to minimize or eliminate identified risks through proactive planning, technical controls, and operational adjustments.

 

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that projects comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations and industry standards, such as HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) guidelines.

 

Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, financial controllers, and external stakeholders, to integrate risk management into decision-making processes.

 

Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Continuously monitor risk levels throughout project execution and operations, providing regular reports to senior management and stakeholders to facilitate informed decisions.

 

Crisis Management: Develop contingency plans and lead responses to emergencies or significant project disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and costs.

 

Optimization of Opportunities: Identify opportunities within the risk management process that can lead to cost savings, efficiency improvements, or new business opportunities.

 

 

Essential Requirements:

 

Integrated Project Management experience  Experience as a Senior Well Engineer with upstream oil & gas experience  Qualitative and quantitative risk assessment experience Risk Management Frameworks: Energy Industry Specific Knowledge: Risk Analysis: Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Standards: Stakeholder management experience with effective collaboration with multi disciplinary teams such as Engineers, Commercial, Legal & Operations

 

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in either: Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical or Civil Engineering), Risk Management, Business Management, Business Administration , Project Management or a related technical discipline

 

 Certifications (Preferred:) 

Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) Institute of Risk Management (IRM) qualifications (e.g., International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management)
