ResponsibilitiesAs a Risk Services Consultant, you'll provide the highest level of Risk Services technical expertise to policyholders, agencies, Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, Product Management and other areas. You will survey moderate to high complexity business operations and consults with customers and underwriting to determine the type and level of exposures and controls needed. You'll be responsible for providing services to assigned accounts to influence profitability and retention. We'll trust you to conduct training; risk services report reviews; mentoring; and provides specialized technical advice and counsel to staff and customers. You will also assist Underwriters with risk selection and ongoing account management.

Perform risk services surveys based on expertise and complexity. Survey properties and observes business operations and management practices to determine safety issues and hazards. Analyze history of accidents and claims to determine trends and causes to consult in development of accident prevention programs. Prepare written report of findings and recommendations for correction of unsafe conditions. Consult with insured in regard to activities and programs to control losses and improve safety. Confer with employees of insured, provides informational materials, and conducts training to induce compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations. Maintain a consultative relationship with assigned service accounts. Work closely and proactively with Risk Services leadership. Build and maintain productive relationships with internal business partners including Underwriting and Claims to service customers as a unified team and deliver risk services that address customer needs. Share trends, best practices and conducts training when appropriate. Plan, create and deliver specific technical training programs and materials to the field risk services team. Coordinate the development and dissemination of safety reference materials designed for agents and insureds. Assist in the planning, development and facilitation of risk control workshops, seminars and other training for internal and external business partners. Monitor, research and update staff on material changes to local, State and Federal safety laws. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. QualificationsWhat you need to have:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with a preferred emphasis in occupational/industrial safety, agricultural science, engineering or insurance; or ten years property/casualty risk control experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceStrong relationship, marketing and consulting skills required to interact with underwriting, claims, agencies, policyholders and vendorsAbility to mentor and assist in development of risk services staff and get results through others; organize and manage multiple priorities; communicate effectively with all levels of the organizationMust possess problem analysis and problem resolution skills; strong customer orientation and interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skillsRegularly and consistently demonstrates commitment to company values and guiding principlesProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; company business systems and various analytical tools to evaluate dataValid driver’s license required; ability to travel on a regular basis and work outside normal work schedule to fulfill responsibilitiesWhat makes you stand out:
