Risk Specialist I - Suspicious Activity Monitoring
**Description** **Location:** On site at location listed in job posting **SUMMARY** The position is responsible for performing confidential research and investigations of money laundering and other financial crimes with the suspicious activity monitoring (SAM) team of BSA Compliance. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** + Analyze client account transactions from various internal monitoring sources, including the bank’s automated transaction/scenario monitoring system (Actimize), to detect potentially suspicious activity. Make decisions on appropriate action to take regarding the need for further investigation. + Adhering to internal BSA Compliance SAR team procedures by documenting the summary of investigative findings (e.g., thorough notes supporting decisions, including copies of supporting documents such as statements/checks, media search results, results from internal system searches, etc. as needed). + Ensure all investigative tasks are completed on a timely and accurate basis, including the necessity to meet established federal and internal timelines and standards. + If management deems it necessary for workflow, cross-training on the processes associated with preparing investigative cases for review and approval by management, including preparation of Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) to be submitted to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). + Participate in exams/audits by assisting in gathering of data for regulators, auditors, and quality control reviewers. + Performs all other duties as assigned by management. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES** 1. No supervisory responsibilities **QUALIFICATIONS** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required in this position: 1. 5-10 years of banking experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 2. Thorough knowledge and comprehension of bank systems including, at a minimum, inSTEP Sales & Service, Ecif (Hogan/MCIF), ARX, Image Retrieval, basic Google/Internet research skills. **COMPUTER AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT SKILLS** 1.
