Position Description
Our Cardiac Acute Care Unit is a 31-bed patient
care area. Nurses on this unit care for patients
with dysrhythmias, heart failure, myocardial
infarction and other cardiac conditions. We also
care for patients, pre- and post-procedure, who
require intervention in the cardiac catheterization
lab (e.g., coronary intervention, ablation and
device deployment), and post open heart
surgery patients. BLS and ACLS are essential. The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.
Position Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:
BSN degree Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.Service Area Overview
