Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is excited to announce the opening of our new OPEN-HEART program coming 2024! Over the years we have earned numerous accolades and accreditations for our existing interventional cardiology program, and, by expanding our current cardiac offerings, we will be able to provide a smart choice for life saving services to the communities of southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina.

We are seeking patient-centered, innovative, experienced RN’s with at least one year of cardiothoracic ICU experience to join us as we begin our open heart program.

Below is a brief summary of the CT ICU RN position: 

Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, compassionate, clinically effective patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation; and effectively interact with patients, significant others, and other care team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing. The RN determines the effectiveness of nursing interventions by evaluating outcomes in relation to evidenced-based intervention. The RN functions within the scope and standards of nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association and the Nurse Practice Act of Virginia. As a key member of the care team, the RN is responsible for making decisions and performing services that are in the best interest of the patient while positively contributing to the patient's experience and the success of the entire team.

Education and Experience

Education:  A minimum of an Associates degree in Nursing is required, BSN preferred

Experience: A minimum of 1 year cardiothoracic (CT) ICU experience is required

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia or compact state with current BLS and/or ACLS Certification. Certification in a related specialty field preferred.
