Summary
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) – Cardiothoracic is responsible for the initial and ongoing education and competency assessment and evaluation process within their service lines. The Cardiothoracic Nurse Educator assists nursing services and provides programs and training to enhance the development of technical, psychomotor, and critical thinking domains. The Cardiothoracic Nurse Educator will maintain clinical competency in order to best assess and assist the needs of the units assigned.
Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Education
Preferred Education: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Education
Experience: Minimum 3+ years Cardiothoracic Nursing; Nurse Educator experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia or compact state. Must have current BLS and ACLS. Cardiac CNS, CVRN-BC, and/or CCRN preferred
