RN, Clinical Coordinator
Summary As a collaborative partner with the Nurse Manager, the Clinical Coordinator's primary role is to be an active, engaged clinical leader and assist with guidance of patient flow on his/her selected units. As an extension of the nursing leadership team, the Clinical Coordinator demonstrates clinical expertise by working with patients and clinical team members while providing clinical care and support. Apart from the clinical knowledge, Clinical Coordinators possess wide range of skills such as an ability to establish and maintain collegial working relationship with patients, medical staff, co-workers, and the public; competent in time management, leadership, and unit based data collection; problem solving abilities; knowledge and understanding of various policies and procedures; ability to maintain calm and react effectively in emergency situations; strong communication and interpersonal skills; and knowledge in computer applications to include electronic medical records. Daily activities include periodic meeting attendance, coordination of unit schedules, delivery of constructive feedback, and participation in nursing initiatives to include quality, patient experience, and throughput metrics. To ensure success, Clinical Coordinators should be confident and professional frontline leaders with fantastic communication and clinical skills that will contribute to the efficient day-to-day activities of the healthcare facility. Education and Experience Minimum Required Education: Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia or compact state. Preferred Education: BSN Experience: Minimum of 2 years Acute Care nursing and leadership experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia or compact state; Must have current BLS. ACLS required within 120 days of hire.
