Summary 

All team members of the Surgery Center of Chesapeake, LLC (SCC) are expected to focus on the needs of the patient, providing quality care and service, efficient use of all resources, and the profitability of the center. No task should be considered too small, too unimportant, or too menial if it improves the quality of the care and services the patient and family receive. In all cases, every team member shall collaborate on decisions and perform services that exceed the expectations of the patient. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

The Perioperative Manager is responsible for and performs line management functions for the Operating Room and SPD under the guidance and direction of the Administrator of the Ambulatory Surgery Center. Assists in the development of short- and long-range objectives for each area of responsibility. Monitors progress towards achievement of these objectives. Provides coordination of the activities in the OR/SPD. Responsible for overall flow of the OR schedule. Manage staff breaks and staffing for each scheduled surgery. 

Responsible and accountable for the professional management and direction of the clinical practice within these areas. 

Responsible for maintaining nursing care standards, consistent enforcement of Surgery Center departmental policies and procedures and application of effective management principles. 

 

Education/Licensure: Must be a Registered Nurse with active licensure in the State of Virginia; BSN required; Master's preferred; CPR required. 

 

Experience: Minimum five years of experience in an OR management/supervisory position with 3 years’ experience in Ambulatory Surgery. 2 years’ experience in management of sterile processing department, supply chain, inventory control and budget. Recent clinical OR experience required. Knowledge of State, Federal and Joint Commission compliance guidelines and strategies required. CNOR preferred.
