The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

 

Assists in the development of treatment plans and renders radiation therapy treatment. Provides supervisory oversight of a designated machine or machines, the staff assigned to that machine or machines, and all associated staffing and scheduling tasks to keep the machines running in the most effective and efficient manner. Maintains competence to perform and the willingness and flexibility to work at all possible tasks associated with an RT’s responsibilities in both the RT Treatment and Simulation area. Works with a unit specific patient population.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

BSN degree Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
