Qualifications: + Current Montana RN license or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required. + Must be adaptable to various inpatient settings, which are determined based on skills, experience, and/or certifications. + Experience, competency, and certifications as required by units qualified to float. Women’s and Children’s Float Pool (OB, Peds, PICU, NICU) requirements. + Minimum of five (5) years Nursing experience in OB, Peds, PICU and/or NICU + Must cross train and maintain competence to work in three (3) of the four (4) units within Women’s and Children’s + Preceptor experience preferred or within six (6) months of hire + Applicable certifications: + BLS required. + ACLS, PALS, NRP, and EFM must be successfully obtained within the first six (6) months of hire. + STABLE and APHON must be successfully obtained within twelve (12) months of hire. + BSN degree preferred. National Certification in OB/NICU or Peds/PICU preferred. + Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently. + Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences. + Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. + Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed. Job Specific Duties: + Exhibits a commitment to professionalism, civility, teamwork, and customer service while undertaking all tasks and interactions with others. + Exhibits knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to the RN’s specific job duties, patient care population being served, and safety. + Operates and maintains equipment to departmental standards and exhibits an understanding of the processes for removing a malfunctioning piece of equipment from service. + Maintains age-appropriate nursing standards of care and executes appropriate physician orders. + While executing patient care, exhibits knowledge of and maintains the patient’s right to diversity, privacy, and confidentiality. + Performs a comprehensive assessment of patient on admission and at regular intervals appropriate for the condition of the patient and/or as ordered by the physician/provider. + Performs administration of medications, treatments, physician/provider specified care, and intravenous therapy to patients, in compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures. + Performs reassessment of patient(s) to monitor status, identify changes in vital signs, lab work or status, implement interventions as ordered or defined, and to evaluate patient responses to treatment or therapy in compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures. + Communicates all appropriate and critical changes in the patient’s condition, status and findings to the appropriate physician/provider in a timely manner or as defined by policies and procedures and/or physician/provider orders. Communication between members of the healthcare team is conducted using SBAR format. + Documents all clinical findings and required regulatory mandates in the chart in compliance with hospital and nursing policies and procedures or as defined by regulatory requirements. + Completes and demonstrates competency/currency in required yearly unit competencies and educational requirements. Competencies may be required in assigned facilities annually. Complies with and maintains regulatory compliance requirements as defined for the nursing care on the unit/facility and according to organizational standards. Schedule: Night Shift, 36 hours per week (12-hour shifts) Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
