About the Job:
As an RN on our KBH team, you will promote optimal health, well-being, and safety through the use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, and the Idaho Nurse Practice Act. You will enrich lives by providing relationship-based care as demonstrated by recognizing the patient, family, and/or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate, coordinated, and culturally competent care based on respect for the patient’s preferences, values, and needs. In your role, you will integrate the best current evidence into clinical practice and use data to monitor and improve the outcomes of care processes. Additionally, you will utilize information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making. You will know you are making a difference in the lives of those around you through the compassionate, thorough care you provide.
Responsibilities:
Evaluates, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for an assigned patient population Assists physician during examinations and procedures Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patient and family to understand the condition, medications, and self-care skills A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assignedRequirements and Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required RN with less than 3 years’ patient-facing nursing experience at time of hire are required to be enrolled in a baccalaureate (or higher) degree program in nursing within 1 year of employment, with completion within 3 years of hire RN with at least 3 years’ patient-facing nursing experience at time of hire, ADN or diploma required; BSN or higher preferred State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the “multistate privilege to practice” compact with Idaho prior to start date BLS RequiredAbout Kootenai Health
