The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the Nursing Process to provide nursing care for the patient throughout their life span. **Essential Job Functions:** + Demonstrates ability to perform a thorough systems assessment. + Demonstrates effective verbal, oral, and written communication skills. + Delegates specific tasks and elements of patient care to other RNs, Nurse Assistants, Health Unit Coordinators, and other assigned personnel. + Directs, plans, and coordinates work flow. + Assists the Director as necessary in evaluation of fellow employees. + Coordinates care in collaboration with patients, family, physicians, other nursing staff, and ancillary departments. + Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, scope of care, performance improvement activities, safety, environmental and infection control standards. + Maintains accurate nursing documentation. **Education:** Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing. **Licenses/Certifications** Current license to practice in the state of South Dakota.
