**Job Summary:**
The ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice are exemplified within this Job Description. The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the Nursing Process to provide nursing care for the patient throughout their life span.
**Essential Job Functions:**
+ Demonstrates ability to perform a thorough systems assessment.
+ Demonstrates effective verbal, oral, and written communication skills.
+ Delegates specific tasks and elements of patient care to other RNs, Nurse Assistants, Health Unit Coordinators, and other assigned personnel.
+ Directs, plans, and coordinates work flow.
+ Assists the Director as necessary in evaluation of fellow employees.
+ Coordinates care in collaboration with patients, family, physicians, other nursing staff, and ancillary departments.
+ Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, scope of care, performance improvement activities, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
+ Maintains accurate nursing documentation.
**Education:**
Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
**Licenses/Certifications**
Current license to practice in the state of South Dakota.
BLS
TNCC
ACLS
