Kettering Health Main Campus, formerly Kettering Medical Center, is the flagship hospital of Kettering Health and has been serving Kettering, Ohio and the Greater Dayton area since 1964. The facility includes the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Heart Hospital, maternity service with a level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and level II Emergency Care. In 2020, KH Main Campus received an “A” from the Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.Received 4 Star Baby-Friendly Hospital status by the Ohio Hospital Association.Awarded as one of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals by IBM Watson Health in 2020.Kettering received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award by Healthgrades (2017-2019).Accredited by the American College of Emergency Physicians as a Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department.465-bed hospital (includes newborn beds) Department OverviewThe RN Access Coordinator (AC) will be responsible for the coordination of patient admissions and transfers from regional physician offices and facilities, from the initial call through successful arrival at KHN facility. The AC provides the highest quality of customer service to physicians, nurses, patients, and other medical professionals. The AC serves as a liaison between the regional physicians and hospitals into KHN. The AC will work closely with admissions/bed control at appropriate KHN facility as well as facilitating the actual logistical processes which allow for timely and appropriate movement of patient into proper KHN facility.
Preferred QualificationsMinimum Education
Graduation from accredited program of nursing, BSN preferred. If outside of network applicant, BSN will be required to be completed within five years of hire.
Required Licenses
[Ohio, United States] Registered Nurse
Registered Nurse with current state licensure.
Minimum Work Experience
Minimum of two years clinical experience in an acute care setting with critical care experience preferred. Past transfer call center experience a plus. Marketing/customer service experience also a plus.
Required Skills
Certification: Current BLS certification required.
Technical skills: Basic computer knowledge required. Familiarity with email, internet, and Microsoft office expected.
Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including physicians, peers, patients, and families while exhibiting tact, enthusiasm and patience. Must be sensitive to cultural issues. Must interact with community in a manner that enhances the image of KHN and that also supports our mission and values.
Essential Cognitive Abilities: Able to comprehend and interpret complex clinical subject matter related to patient care. Must have excellent time management skills and be able to multi-task even in stressful situations.
