RN- Ambulatory- After Hours On Call Program

Our 24/7 RN Advice Line is a critical component of our mission, offering expert guidance and compassionate care to individuals in need. You’ll play a pivotal role in improving patient outcomes, enhancing the overall healthcare experience, and ensuring appropriate ER utilization.

What to expect in this role:

Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

You’ll assess patient symptoms, offer guidance, and determine the appropriate level of care. You’ll provide professional, evidence-based medical advice to patients over the phone. Additionally, you’ll educate patients on managing their health conditions and navigating their healthcare options, collaborate with providers to ensure continuity of care and thoroughly document all interactions to maintain accurate patient records.

Qualifications

We encourage you to apply if you:

 Are a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.  Possess ER or ICU experience.  Possess recent experience in performing nursing assessments. Have excellent listening and communication skills. Possess RN licensure in the State of Michigan. Are able to lift and carry computer equipment up to 25 lbs. Have the ability to respond to the needs of a 24/7/365 operation.

 CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy. Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
