Job Description:Responsible for organizing and providing nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation and job descriptions. Contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meets the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Responsible for the coordination of lactation education and support within the nursing division.

Education Qualifications:

BSN or ADN degree from an accredited school or college of nursing

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within one year

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year

Must Meet the Following Qualifications:

Minimum of one year RN experience per above definition which includes: postpartum/couplet care; antepartum; labor and delivery with a greater than 1,200 deliveries per year.

OR

Minimum of 6 months of or current MCH experience with antepartum training.
