**Job Summary:**
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operating Room (OR) Neuro Team Leader to join our surgical services team. The Neuro Team Leader will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the activities of the operating room Neuro team to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Leadership and Supervision:**
+ Lead, supervise, and mentor the operating room Neuro team, including nurses, surgical technologists, and support staff.
+ Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring optimal workflow and patient care.
+ Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
**Clinical Coordination:**
+ Coordinate and oversee all aspects of Neuro surgery procedures.
+ Ensure compliance with established protocols, policies, and procedures.
+ Monitor and assess the performance of the Neuro team, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
**Patient Care:**
+ Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care throughout the surgical process.
+ Maintain a sterile and safe environment in the operating room.
+ Address patient and family concerns, providing information and support as necessary.
**Resource Management:**
+ Manage inventory and supplies for the operating room neuro team, ensuring availability and proper usage.
+ Collaborate with the procurement team to maintain adequate stock levels and reduce waste.
+ Ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of OR Neuro equipment.
**Quality Improvement:**
+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
+ Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
+ Implement and monitor infection control practices.
**Education and Training:**
+ Provide ongoing training and education to OR staff on best practices, new techniques, and equipment.
+ Stay current with advancements in surgical care and incorporate new knowledge into practice.
+ Coordinate and participate in team meetings, in-services, and continuing education programs.
**Qualifications:**
+ Registered Nurse (RN) with a current state license.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in an operating room setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership role preferred.
+ Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) preferred.
+ Strong clinical skills and knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergency situations.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
+ BCLS - Basic Life Support required
+ ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
