RN Clinical Coordinator - Women and Infants

Job Summary - The Clinical Coordinator serves as a clinical expert to patients, physicians and nursing staff members.  This individual ensures efficient medical management of patients by expediting communication with physicians, patients and nursing team.  They assure the SMH Mission, Values, standards, confidentiality, policies and procedures of both the department and SMH are followed.  This responsibility includes enhancement of customer satisfaction through patient, family teaching, effective management of clinical tests, procedures, discharge planning with case management and appropriate utilization of SMH resources to optimize patient care.   The Clinical Coordinator serves to build critical thinking skills by teaching and mentoring the nursing team.

Education - High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 

Experience - Five years of RN experience in the Obstetrical or Nursery setting preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Licensed RN and currently registered to practice nursing in the state of Arkansas.  Must be currently certified in CPR.  Certification in Obstetrics or Neonatal nursing Preferred.  ACLS preferred. NRP preferred. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – supervises and directs staff RNs, LPNs, aides (nursing assistants), unit secretaries, and technicians.
