**It's more than a career, it's a calling** MO-SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital 1201 Grand **Worker Type:** Regular **Job Highlights:** **Department:** Trauma Administration **Schedule:** Full time; flexible schedule **J** **ob Duties:** Supporting surgeons and researching cases throughout various trauma departments and ACS level one trauma centers. **Location** : MO-SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital 1201 Grand Boulevard St. Louis, MO **Job Summary:** Fosters innovation, inquiry and creates a culture that embeds current knowledge and research into care decisions to improve patient outcomes and health care delivery systems. **Job Responsibilities and Requirements:** PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES + Demonstrates competence in research, evidenced based practice, and quality improvement. + May assist nurses at all levels in the organization to recognize gaps between evidence and practice design. + Designs research and evidence-based curricula that meets nurses’ learning needs to achieve desired patient outcomes, increased clinical competence, promotes error reduction and patient safety, and enhances professional development in evidence-based care. + Incorporates research, scholarly and evidence-based practice into existing educational models/programs. + Mentors nurses and clinicians at all levels of the organization in research and the interpretation and translation of published evidence into practice. + Assists with planning, designing, and implementing research projects, including maintaining records, Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, and submitting manuscripts to journals as applicable. + Guides nurses in the internal and external dissemination of research and evidence-based practice work. + Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. + Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION + Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing EXPERIENCE + Three years' registered nurse experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS + Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. + Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. + Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. + Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. + Frequent keyboard use/data entry. + Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping. + Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. + Rare climbing.
