An RN Crisis Nurse will, under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON), provide nursing care to clients as outlined in section 2 of the NC "Article 9A. Nursing Practice Act" and rules of the NC Board of Nursing. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and current North Carolina RN Licensure required. 

One year nursing experience preferred. 

Must attend 12 hours of Person Centered Thinking training prior to or within 90 days of hire. 

The candidate must pass the criminal record history clearance and a child abuse clearance and any other required clearances as well as possess a valid driver's license. 

LSCI, SCM, Ukeru training as appropriate for position. 

JOB DUTIES: 

Provide nursing care based on client needs. 

Assist with the development of plan of care. 

Observe client behavior and physical status and notify Licensed Clinician, DON and/or Physician of changes in condition. 

Assist in maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment that respects client's rights. 

Assist clients with activities of daily living, encouraging independent behavior when appropriate. 

May supervise LPN's during shift. 

Assist in the performance and/or observation of restraints as necessary when ordered by a licensed professional using the current approved KidsPeace restraint methodology on youth who may weigh in excess of 250 pounds and who are verbally and/or physical threatening or otherwise presenting a threat to themselves or others. 

Administer medications as per Physician's orders and observe, record, and report evidence of adverse reactions to medications.

Perform all other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and Leadership.
