Responsibilities Job Summary: The Specialty Nurse (LPN or RN) in the Cardiology Clinic plays a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with cardiovascular conditions. Under the direction of cardiologists and clinical leadership, the nurse provides clinical support, patient education, and care coordination in an outpatient specialty setting. This position supports the clinic's mission to improve heart health through compassionate and evidence-based care. Key Responsibilities: + Room patients, obtain vital signs, and conduct focused cardiovascular assessments + Assist with stress tests, EKGs, and other cardiac diagnostic procedures + Administer medications and injections as ordered by providers + Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, procedures, and lifestyle modifications + Support care coordination, including follow-ups, referrals, and test scheduling + Triage patient concerns via phone or in-clinic and relay information to providers + Accurately document all clinical activities in the electronic health record (EHR) + Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Qualifications + Current LPN or RN license in the state of Iowa (required) + BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred or must be obtained within 6 months + Previous experience in cardiology, internal medicine, or specialty care preferred + Strong communication, teamwork, and patient service skills + Familiarity with EHR systems and outpatient clinic workflows
