RN ED Simulation Lab Coord SB
Job Summary Responsible for providing leadership in the design, introduction, and implementation of simulated instruction in the curriculum. This includes working with course faculty to provide assistance in the development of teaching/learning activities within the curriculum that involve creative applications of information technology, including learning methods such as high fidelity simulation. The Simulation Laboratory Coordinator is accountable to the Director of the Nursing Program and maintains a collaborative relationship with the Curriculum Coordinator, and faculty. The Simulation Laboratory Coordinator works collaboratively with administration, faculty, staff, and students to meet the teaching and learning needs of the students. In addition to the above, the Simulation Laboratory Coordinator will chair the simulation subcommittee, provide clinical coverage as needed within the nursing program, provide direction to the Simulation Support Specialist, and coordinate external undergraduate registered nurse clinical placement assignments. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in nursing with a focus on nursing education and experience teaching prelicensure nursing students. Experience implementing learning activities that incorporate human patient simulators is an advantage as is knowledge of the nursing education accreditation process. Individuals who lack healthcare simulation experience but have a passion for teaching students and are motivated to learn will be considered.
