The department sees a variety of patients from newborns to geriatrics who come by ambulance or walk in. The Emergency Department provides the initial treatment and stabilization of patients who come with a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries, some of which can be life threatening. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the RN contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients in the Emergency Department and their families.
