The 8100 Family Practice Unit at Akron General is a high acuity general medicine floor that admits a wide variety of patients. It is also a neuro floor with cardiac telemetry capabilities. **A caregiver in this position works nights, from 7:00pm-7:30am.** A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Provide nursing care based on patient-centered outcomes and standards of care based on current research and evidence-based practice. + Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions. + Safely administer patient care and treatments in accordance with the Standards of Safe Nursing Practice and institutional policy. + Safely administer medications in accordance with the Standards of Safe Nursing Practice and institutional policy + Involve the patient and family (or designee) in developing a plan of care individualized to patient cultural, religious and educational needs. + Participate in on-going interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes and contribute to the improvement of care. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: + Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
