Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a Hospital Supervisor to join our Clinical Resources team!

The Hospital Supervisor manages hospital operations in the absence of administration. Accountable for the management of human resources, timely patient placement and assisting in the provision of education to meet patient/family needs. Is a resource for physicians, staff, patients, and visitors.

The Hospital Supervisor is a Registered Nurse who assumes the responsibility and accountability for the provision of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care provided that incorporates evidence based practice. A key aspect of the work of Nursing is to continually improve the quality of nursing care by collecting and analyzing data.

HOURS: Full-time or .9 FTE; 72 hours bi-weekly; Varied Shifts

Experience/Qualifications:

Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing acquired within five (5) years of hire. A Master’s Degree in Nursing Management or Administration and/or certification in a nursing specialty, management or administration, along with successful completion of a management program beneficial.Five years’ experience as a staff nurse in an acute care facility, knowledge and expertise in area of application, and demonstrated competency in critical thinking and prioritizing skills necessary for patient care and management functions. Previous experience in the supervision of personnel, evaluation of the quality and appropriateness of nursing care, and resource utilization beneficial.Possesses an active Wisconsin RN nursing license.Current BLS and ACLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).Membership in appropriate professional organizations beneficial.Demonstrates effective delegation and decision-making skills as well as critical thinking skills.Possesses good coaching and communication skills.Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.
