**Responsibilities Job Description** **Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit** **(ICU)** **at** **M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital** **located in Edina, MN!** This multi-diagnosis Intensive Care Unit cares for critically ill patients 18 years and older. We see approximately 8-10 open heart surgical patients per week as well as other major surgical patients, acute respiratory failure, OD / withdrawal, medical and surgical neuro and minimal trauma. We provide Telemedicine ICU services for the system and take care of patients with IABP, Impella, hypothermia therapy, and CRRT. However, we do transfer patients requiring LVAD or ECMO to the University of MN.   **Schedule** **:** This position will be working .75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the night shift. This position will also work a rotation for every third weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). **About the ICU at Southdale Hospital** **:** + This position reports to the Nurse Manager and Patient Care Supervisor. + We are a 23-bed unit. + We have an average daily census of 20-21 patients. + Currently, we have 90 FTEs / 130 employees in the department. + Approximately half of our RN staff has acquired an advanced certification in Critical Care Nursing. + 24/7 Intensivist coverage in the ICU. **About Fairview** **:** Fairview Health Services is an industry-leading, award-winning nonprofit that offers an entire network of healthcare services. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.
