Dominican offers emergency services and is a Certified Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center. As Santa Cruz County’s heart attack (STEMI) receiving center, Dominican Hospital provides cutting edge cardiac care. The hospital’s heart attack treatment times consistently beat the national average, and the hospital offers two cardiac catheterization labs available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Groundbreaking cardiac procedures at Dominican include the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure, which allows for heart valve replacement without opening a patient’s chest.
Dominican Hospital has forged significant partnerships with area hospitals to bring exceptional care to Santa Cruz County. The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Neurosurgery at Dominican is also offered through a partnership with Stanford Health Care.
**In The Community**
Beyond care inside the hospital, Dominican is dedicated to the health and wellness of the Santa Cruz community.
Community programs include a Mobile Wellness Clinic, a tattoo removal program, and support groups for patients and new mothers. In addition, and in accordance with our mission, Dominican Hospital supports programs for the underserved in our community, including children and adults, students, seniors, and the homeless population. Dominican also has received several awards for environmental excellence.
**Responsibilities**
Under general supervision of the Director of Nursing and specific supervision of the Radiologist and/or Unit Charge Nurse and Radiology Manager/Director, the radiology/special procedures nurse will be responsible for the care of patients undergoing special procedures, for monitoring and dispensing medication to patients during procedural sedation, including the pre and post-procedure periods.The nurse will also be responsible for direct and indirect delivery of patient care of all ages for a wide variety of patient population through the use of the nursing process and the maintenance of the standards of the professional nursing practice. Responsibilities include PICC insertion to adolescent, adult and geriatric population. Knowledge of selection of appropriate vascular access device for each patient. Additionally, the nurse is responsible for advanced skill set regarding vascular access including use of ultrasound, peripheral insertion and port access.
**ALL REGISTERED NURSES** will render professional nursing care to patients, support medical care as directed by physicians. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health/Dominican Hospital. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The RN shall support Dignity Health/Dominican Hospital's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities and patient satisfaction.

**Qualifications**
**Requirements:**
+ Six months experience in critical care and/or ED setting but a combination of education or other experience and specialty training may be considered
+ Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
+ Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills required.
**License/Registration/Certification:**
+ Current and active CA RN license
+ Current BLS certification
+ Current ACLS certification
+ Current PALS certification
+ Current NIHSS Stroke Certifications
**Preferred:**
+ 5+ years in nursing
+ BSN preferred
+ CCRN
+ PICC insertion, port, IR and IV therapy experience preferred
**Pay Range**
$96.00 - $103.68 /hour
