Responsibilities
Virginia Mason is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Neurosciences & Renal Transplant
Progressive Care Unit. Our RNs are trained to care for highly acute neuro progressive patients
in a 1:3 and Medical Surgical patients in a 1:5 RN to patient ratio. The patient population on this
unit includes but is not limited to: post-op craniotomies, complex spine surgeries, acute
ischemic, hemorrhagic strokes and kidney transplants.
As a member of our nursing team you will be supported to provide high quality, skilled nursing
services and assist patients achieve optimum and functional health. Through collaboration with
physicians and other healthcare professionals, you will help prepare the patient and family for
discharge to home or another setting for continued care. You will also help to further our
commitment to continuous system improvements via the Virginia Mason Production System.

Qualifications
Qualifications
● A current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License is required for this
position.
● CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work.
● Other certifications may be required for specialty areas.
● One year of Acute Care, or Medical Surgical experience required.
● Transplant and/or Neurology & Neurosurgery experience preferred.
● Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
● Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
