The Randolph Hospital Nurse Internship Program is a tuition-free educational program that provides the extensive training, knowledge, insights and skills needed to be a highly competent hospital nurse. The internship option is designed for new nursing student graduates who will be receiving their license to practice nursing in the State of North Carolina. All interns will complete a minimum twelve week program consisting of two integrated parts: Structured Classroom Sessions, Clinical Specialty Assignment with a trained preceptor.
The twelve week clinical component provides an exciting opportunity to work with a preceptor on multiple units to enhance learning opportunities. With assistance from a selected preceptor, you will have the advantage of learning from an experienced Randolph Hospital nurse who will help you learn skills and gain confidence. Clinical experiences will enable you to incorporate information and apply skills to care for hospitalized patients. You will receive clinical performance evaluations regularly and the nursing education specialists will serve as a central resource for you.
Randolph Hospital's Nurse Interns starting on July 19, 2010 will work on one of the following units:
Medical Pediatric Services Unit
Inpatient Surgical Unit
Progressive Coronary Unit
Intensive Care Unit
Emergency Department
Maternity Department
During the interview process candidates will be asked to select your top two units. When an offer is made for the internship, we guarantee a full-time position on a particular unit with the same comprehensive benefit package as all Randolph Hospital nurses. We do not guarantee at the time of employment offer if the position will be a day or night position. This is determined during the course of the internship.
