The Nurse Manager is accountable for the management and leadership of a specific nursing unit. This position evaluates available resources and delegates appropriately to assure quality outcomes of care. They also directs and implements the nursing process. This includes systematic data collection, assessment, development of care plan, implementation of care plan and revision of plan. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the management and leadership of a specific nursing unit. This position evaluates available resources and delegates appropriately to assure quality outcomes of care. He/she also directs and implements the nursing process. This includes systematic data collection, assessment, development of care plan, implementation of care plan and revision of plan. The Registered Nurse manages and supervises the care of residents through a well defined care delivery system.
Duties:
Facilitates Care Planning Process: collects data utilizing the MDS; Assesses residents; assists in development of care plan using the RAPS and Triggers; attends quarterly and annual care conferences; monitors change of condition and revises care plan; assists and completes assessments. Uses standards of care and specific policies to perform nursing care procedures for residents. Supervises and manages RN's, LPN's and NA/R's. Manages all staff when in charge of building. Completes performance appraisals. Confronts, corrects and explains unprofessional behavior. Completes charting. Collects resident assessment data. Gathers and documents data on admissions and discharges. Administers medications, signs out medications and treatments including PRN's, Reviews medication and treatment sheets monthly.
Qualifications:
Must have current registration, as a Registered Nurse, in the State of Minnesota. A Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree is preferred. Must have successfully completed or seek certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and emergency care for the health care provider. Must possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing when directing the care of residents. Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Must qualify for employment, after criminal background study, per guidelines of Minnesota Department of Human Services.
