We are looking to hire an amazing Oncology RN! As a Registered Nurse on the Oncology unit at MercyOne, you will provide individualized, high-quality care to patients of all ages. You will use a team approach to delegate and coordinate care during admission, transfer, and discharge. In this role, you will independently deliver nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, MercyOne policies, nursing standards, ethical principles, and professional judgment. + Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort. + Practices safe patient handling techniques. + Continuously evaluates assigned patients and provides ongoing treatment. + Anticipates, identifies, and responds to the educational and emotional needs of patients and families. + Guides and directs healthcare personnel (i.e., Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients. + Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use (i.e., IV pumps, monitoring equipment, and drainage devices). + Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug libraries and monitor alarms whenever available to maximize patient safety. + Initiates emergency support measures (i.e., cardiopulmonary resuscitation, protecting patients from injury). + Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene). **Schedule:** + **Full Time:** 36 hours per week + **Available Shift:** Nights (7 PM – 7 AM) + Every other holiday, and every third weekend **Position Highlights and Benefits:** + Tuition Reimbursement + Eligible for a generous Night Shift Differential We prioritize your well-being—both physical and mental—which is why our comprehensive benefits package includes: + Wellness programs + Education reimbursement + Customized health insurance plans (including dental and vision) + Paid time off + Long- and short-term leave + Retirement planning + Life insurance coverage **General Requirements:** + Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter + Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire + American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within six (6) weeks of hire **Education:** + Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa Colleagues of MercyOne Health System enjoy competitive compensation with a full benefits package and opportunity for growth throughout the system! **Ready to Join Us?** Visit MercyOne Careers (https://www.mercyone.org/careers/) to learn more about the benefits, culture, and career development opportunities available to you at MercyOne Health System circle of care.
