Position Summary:

The LPN position is responsible for all assigned nursing care activities to include but limited to wound care for patients of all ages and other clinical activities associated with providing safe patient care. The LPN is responsible for following all Wound Care and Hyperbaric procedures, care protocols and Healogics’ Clinical Service Practice Guidelines, as directed by a Registered Nurse, or Physician. The LPN will be responsible for assisting with patient and wound care data.

Minimum Qualifications:

Direct Patient Care:

In collaboration with other staff members provide bedside patient care, implementing the interventions identified in the plan of case, as directed by RN or physician.Ensure appropriate patient care documentation.Maintain familiarity with regulatory standards.Report quality of care issues to staff RN or Program Director.Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies.Communicates with all team members regarding therapeutic interventions.May function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with hospital policyOther duties as assigned.

Planning and Organizing:

Providing efficient and effective care with the guidance of the physician during clinic sessions.Attending the clinics at which you are scheduled and being dependable.Managing multiple patients at the same time with high energy and organization.

Collaboration / Communication / Follow-up:

Collaborating with other health care providers, wound care center physicians, Program Director and Medical Director, regarding clinic and patient needs.Help assist in getting physician orders completed for the coordination of careEffectively communicating with others, both verbally and written.

EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program

EXPERIENCE 

Previous healthcare experience within a clinical setting preferred.

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE

Current BCLS certificationCurrent Iowa Licensed Practical Nurse License
