Summary :UNIT DETAILS (Outpatient Infusion / IV Therapy):

Services and treatment offered at TCA Outpatient Infusion include but are not limited to: Infusion therapy: Biologic Medications, antibiotics, iron and immune therapy, hydration, renal protection; migraine therapy; electrolyte replacement, and blood products; Specialty Labs and Central Line Draws; Medication Injections including antibiotics, antipsychotics, anticoagulant therapy, Rabies, and immune therapy; PICC/Midline placement, management, and removal; Therapeutic Phlebotomy, Urinary Catheter Management. Robust PICC Training Course and orientation provided on site.

The Infusion Nurse will assess the patient with each treatment and will collaborate with provider as needed. The Infusion Nurse implements the treatment (therapy) plan and provides diagnosis related health, safety and treatment plan education.

Job Description:

SCHEDULE:

Mix of 8 and 10 hour shifts ranging start times between 6:30-8:30a M-F

Every 6th-7th weekend required (Sat & Sun) 8-12p

May travel between sites outside of primary Appleton location: Neenah, Waupaca, New London, Berlin, Shawano, and Wild Rose

The Registered Nurse provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. Contributes to the goals of the department by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Wisconsin Board of Nursing and ThedaCare policy. Through collaborative practice with members of the care team, is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by ThedaCare. Furthers the professional practice of nursing at ThedaCare by promoting a culture of innovation and a commitment to growth and professional development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Current Wisconsin RN Licensure

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) OR Associates Degree in Nursing with an agreement to obtain the BSN within five years.

American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of Fifty (50) pounds without assistance

Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform patient care procedures
