Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The RN - Pool Week Day – ICU position is intended to provide staffing depth to various units in nursing services. The registered nurse staffing the pool position reports to Nursing Administration for assignment. Individual competencies will be considered when assignments are made.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred/Optional: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES 

Minimum Required:  Demonstrates excellence in customer service and professional conduct. Possesses good communication skills. Interacts appropriately and positively with peers, patients, families, physicians, and professionals. Maintains professionalism in the community, protects the confidentiality of the patient and services as a patient advocate at all times.

The Float RN has the ability to learn and adapt. Has the ability to work in a variety of environments. Demonstrates ability to work in a variety of settings on assigned shift Must be organized. Demonstrates flexibility and a willingness to help coworkers. Demonstrates ability to direct others and delegate appropriately.

Preferred/Optional: 1-2 years of nursing experience, or recent completion of a nursing education program.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan. BCLS required within 30 days of hire. Conscious sedation certification within 3 months of hire or transfer. Achieves 80% or better on medication test.

Preferred/Optional: ACLS certification.
