RN Program Coordinator – Cardiac Care
Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring evidence based care is delivered to all patients.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates the daily operations of the specialized clinical program on data collection, quality assurance, and improvement Responsible for working in collaboration with the healthcare team to coordinate the care and service to patients across the continuum of care Collaborates the plan of care utilizing standardized care protocols in accordance with nationally recognized evidence based care guidelines Responsible for managing the program including but not limited to community education, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, and regaining functional status Assists patients in understanding their diagnosis, treatment options and the resources available Monitors clinical processes, outcomes and system issues related to quality care Identifies trends and sentinel events in order to outline remedial action while maintaining confidentiality Serves as a liaison to administration; represents the STEMI programs at various hospital and community committees to enhance and foster optimal stroke and cardiac care management Acts as a liaison to regional and state cardiac providers and programs Collaborates with STEMI associated research protocols with program medical directors Assists community and regional hospital programs with stroke and cardiac care improvement opportunities Actively pursues and maintains the STEMI center designations Maintains requirements specific to the RN cardiac care and stroke program coordinator as set by designation body A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected May lead and direct the work of others Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assignedRequirements and Minimum Qualifications:
BSN required State of Idaho Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the “multistate privilege to practice” compact with Idaho required Minimum 3 years’ clinical experience in an emergency, critical care, neurology or cardiac department required CEN, CVBS, CCRN, or other related specialty certification required within 2 years of hire Completion of 8 hours of ACS education annually BLS required ACLS required within 6 months of hire Previous experience in program development Clinical knowledge base and data management skills Knowledge of regulatory standards, evidence-based guidelines Strong organizational and communication skillsWorking Conditions:
